UNIQLO Spring/Summer Collection 2014

Last Friday, 28 March 2014, I got invited to the launch event of UNIQLO's spring/summer 2014 collection and its latest global collaborations, held at the Mega Fashion Hall in SM Megamall.

I'm a UNIQLO fan so I got really excited to see what they have in store for me at the event. To my surprise, they're actually launching three new collections and collaborations all at the same time. *bells ringing, stomach turning, wallet shouting* Oh yes (oh no), I'll be going shopping tonight...

First, is the Parisian Chic collection of renowned designer, Ines de ta Fressange, that includes pieces and essentials that reflect her own universal style that is beyond gender, while delivering all the beauty and charm of a sophisticated woman. From Ines herself, "Parisian Chic is an attitude, a style and a way of being elegant without boundaries."

The INES DE LA FRESSANGE PARIS - UNIQLO collection bears the personal touch of Ines de ta Fressange in terms of creativity and style, and this is reflected in the different pieces that compose the life of a woman.

Fun fact: The girl holding hangers of clothes is Daphne Osena. Not that I'm a stalker or anything... But I'm a fan!

The collection consists of 4 categories. The "Petite Parisienne" - A line inspired traditional French work clothes, taking silhouettes from classical favorites with a twist of Ines' cheerfulness in that can be seen in many of the details of the garment. The "Bleu, Blane, Parisienne" - a clean and contemporary line inspired by blue, white and red the French Tricolor, to make anyone feel just like a real Parisian. The "Note Parisienne" - considering black as an essential color to women from Paris to express the French chic style. And the "Souffie de Parisienne" - lineup of ultra-comfortable pieces you can where while relaxing at home or during workouts or practicing yoga, to enjoy a Parisian chic with the ultimate comfort.

I relate so much with this collection because I see a huge Coco Chanel influence in the designs and I just love her.

Up next is the SRPZ NY Line ("Surprise New York"), a new global project designed around the concept "A place where art and fashion meet." This line features a number of specially designed items in collaboration with the Museum of Modert Art (MoMA), inspired by famed and influential artists of our time.

I am impressed with how UNIQLO dressed up their store display of the SPRZ NY Project. It really looks like a gallery in there. Very visually stimulating that shouts "LOOK! BUY ME!"

Last, is the UT The New Model T collection, which offers an authentic pop style, comprising around 35 themes in more than 1,200 colors and patterns, featuring a line in collaboration with Pharell Williams' "i am OTHER" creative collective.

Pharell Williams' "i am OTHER" creative collective will be sold from mid-April to 14 countries and regions around the world, including Japan. In addition, his new TV commercial for UT will also be released in this month featuring a song from his new album " G I R L". So, watch out for that...

After the main event, UNIQLO took us for some private shopping, and I felt very at ease knowing that I don't have to rush myself coz of too many shoppers lining up at the fitting rooms and at the counter. I must say, I'm loving this VIP treatment. *huge grin forming*

With my sister who is also my fashion consultant sometimes...

And after almost an hour of looking around, it's fitting time! And I must send my apologies to the people who are waiting in line because I think it took me more than 30minutes trying on everything and taking some pictures of the items I liked most. *oopsies*

INES DE LA FRESSANGE - UNIQLO collection, P1,490
I love the black version better and I feel sexy in it but wearing this calls for an occasion. I also tried it in red in a smaller size, hence, the "lumpia," and I kinda feel like Maria Mercedes, don't you think?

L: INES DE LA FRESSANGE collection, P1,990
R: Long Denim Shirt Dress on SALE, P990
I've always wanted a shirt dress so I got excited when I saw these two options.

L: SPRZ NY line - Inspired by the works of Jackson Pollock, P790
R: UT THE NEW MODEL T line - designed by Masaru Suzuki with Moomin comic strip characters, P790
I swore I will be sticking with basic, neutral colors to create a new signature style (and to save me from buying new clothes) but this colorful mini dress [R] is just so fun! There's actually a version for kids of the same print but it's still too big for my daughter :(

L: Gray Dress, P990
R: Top from the UT THE NEW MODEL T line, P790
So, what did I end up buying?!? I'll save that for another post...

  1. Very interesting blog. A lot of blogs I see these days don't really provide anything that attract others, but I'm most definitely interested in this one. Just thought that I would post and let you know.
