Sunset

While I melt in the sun at the Axe Anarchy Island Car Wash, I just couldn't pass the opportunity of a sunset background for an outfit shoot. And because I predicted that it's going to be a hot and sunny (and sweaty) event last Saturday, I knew exactly what to wear: #1 shorts #2 breezy-comfortable blouse #3 flats #4 sling bag #sunnies. One thing I forgot though... sunblock!

Literally melting...

FEAT #2 --- The Sun was out and the Axe Girls were ready to get wet and get dirty at the Axe Anarchy Island Car Wash last 10.27.2012 at the Aseana City, Macapagal Blvd. to Save Boracay.

Here's a snapshot of what happened at the sexiest car wash last Saturday.

Cary-d Away!

Oh my... Being MIA (Missing in Action) for a while gave me sO much blog backlogs and I haven't even finished my Love to Wedding Blog series yet. Oh, where shall I start?!?

I guess, by me asking... How was your long weekend?
Mine was hectic, fulfilling and absolutely FUN!

FEAT #1 --- After three years of dreaming to attend the Philippine Fashion Week, I finally got the time AND the TICKETS to go to every fashionista's favorite week of the year, or should I say season?
I almost gave up trying to score some tickets to see at least few shows, and on starry night, I finally got an email invite from the Philippine Fashion Week Live to select the show I want to attend.

I had a LOT of choices actually, but given my semi-tight schedule last weekend, I opted for the best choice and see the show of one of the renowned Filipino Designers I really look up to- Cary Santiago

I really love Cary Santiago... Like, if I'll ever be a fashion designer like what I envisioned myself to be when I was younger, I think I'll be sharing the same design esthetic as his.

SMX Convention Center, Mall of Asia
To describe the show in the simplest manner, the show was a feast for the senses. I didn't appreciate the SFX choice at first but as the models walk the runway and showcase the collection one by one, I found myself in awe and literally holding my breath for some time because of sheer amazement. Few pieces were actually featured on Preview magazine September issue already yet I was still blown away when I saw them walk the runway. The catwalk choreography was also different because you see two to three models walk the runway in a synchronized fashion, you can't decide where to look because all the clothes are just so stunning. The music, the mood, the stellar collection showcased in a jaw-dropping visual presentation, it was like experiencing an orchestra in Fashion.

Here's few of my favorite pieces from that night.

Apologies if I just pulled photos from Stylebible.ph. I wanted to give Cary Santiago's designs justice and I don't think I can do that with my own photos at this actual vantage point.

And here I am on the runway. *Well, almost touching the runway...*

And look who I luckily bumped into? Famous designers and brothers, John and Paul Herrera, my mentors at the Fashion Institute of the Philippines way back when I took short courses on Fashion Design. I was supposed to see their show yesterday but I had an important family gathering to attend to (barristers' salubong for my bro-in-law! #wootwoot). Good thing Stylebible.ph keeps me in the loop of what's happening in #PFWSS2013.

Polkadots

Had dinner at MoMo Cafe in Ayala Triangle Gardens last night with my hubby to celebrate our nine years of being together. Can you believe it? 9 years since College? I guess time really flies when you're having fun...

Anyway, to dress up for the occasion, I wore a red polkadot button-down blouse I bought from Alter/Ego by Bea Benedicto. I'm not usually a fan of color red but it just looked so dainty that tickled the girly-girl in me.

To put a classic twist to my outfit, I paired my red polkadot top with a black skirt, originally a midi, which I temporarily turned into a bubble/high-low skirt by sewing the front hem of the skirt up to the waistband tucked inside the skirt and secured with a belt. Genius, right???

The drop off area at the Makati Stock Exchange is such a nice location for an outfit shoot. Though I would have preferred a day shoot, these night shots are actually quite impressive as well.
Mixed and matched bangles and bracelet with pearls

Where's the light?

I think I have found my signature pose. The "pop the knee" pose. It works naman diba? I like how it make my legs look slimmer than they really are. Don't you agree?

Play of Elements

With the evolution of modern day wedding planning and photography style innovations, prenup shoots are getting more and more complicated and may I say competitive(?) as couples amp up their games in varied creative engagement photo sessions to show the world.

Well, ours is pretty simple with a lil' bit of editorial twists and creative styling here and there. Bottom line is (again) it reflects us as a couple and we definitely had a lot of fun...

My original idea for our prenup shoot is actually a present day vision of our dreams - me as a Fashion Empress ala Kimora Lee Simmons and JM as a Real Estate Tycoon ala Donald Trump, but since it's going to be production heavy, we decided to go for a simpler theme and went for an "Elements" themed shoot (Water, Fire, Wind and Earth) and then play with costumes and styling instead. We thought the theme is also perfect for our photographer using Infrared photography and the landscapes in our chosen locations are so picturesque.

Here's another proof of my OC-ness. My visual pegs to prepare for our prenup shoot, complete with location oculars, test shoots and costume pegs, like it's a real production.

And here are our best prenup photos.

Location: The Marina at Peninsula de Punta Fuego
Location: The Ridge at Terrazas de Punta Fuego
Location: The Peak at Terrazas de Punta Fuego
Location: The Peak at Terrazas de Punta Fuego
Location: Beach Club at Terrazas de Punta Fuego

Our photos by the beach was actually a last minute decision and we didn't really prepare for it but since we were there already, we thought, why not? When we got to the beach, the sea was so serene and the horizon was breathtaking, we were so amazed how the pictures turned out.

Prenup AVP is not actually part of the package we sealed with Vignette Photography, but since they had a new guy practicing his videography skills on us, we asked for the raw footages and my sister edited this nice video for us.
