Weekend Workshop with the Fashion Bamboozle

Woohoo... I'm now on my way to a free “Weekend Workshop” at Schu’s factory outlet, thanks to my sweet, beautiful cousin, who is one of the hottest fashion bloggers right now, Bea Benedicto, for bringing me along.

I read from her blog that it will be a seminar or sorts, where I can learn about Fashion PR and Fashion Writing! What a great opportunity for a beginner like me, right?

I also heard that we also get loot bags and gift certificates too! *kaching*kaching*

I'll share with you more about today, including what I wore for the occasion, soon.

Sexy is out to Save Boracay!

Perhaps, you got bitin with my last post about Axe's new campaign.

Well, the teasing is over coz here it is.

Last 09.26.2012 at the Skye Lounge, I got invited *just wishful thinking* fine... we organized an exclusive Press Launch to kickstart the campaign.

@ Skye Lounge, W Hotel, BHS
Axe Girls
The Media Kit.
I managed to sneak out one coz I'm also a "blogger" haha.

Here I am at the Press Launch Event.
I'm wearing a blue maxi dress to comply with the
fun, casual, beach-y theme of the event.
The colors of my dress looks like the colors of the ocean
and you can't see it but I'm wearing a huge fish cocktail ring.

Maxi Dress: SM Sucat Clearance on 3
(Sale @ P425, previously P1,995)

Can you seriously believe that I'm actually super sick at this time and that I look like this just 2 hours before the event? Well, being the project-lead, I had no choice but to transform into a social butterfly for the event.
Eskimo lang naman ang peg coz
it's really cold in the office.
Truth be told, we actually have
a room called "Igloo"
it is that *brrrr* cold.
I'm wearing no make up also.
Okay, back to ground breaking news: Axe is out to Save Boracay! No kiddin...

We call the campaign "Axe Anarchy Island: Sexy Saves Boracay" and you can check it out at www.sexysavesboracay.com or just log into the Axe Philippines Facebook fanpage

The project aims to rally support for the preservation and promotion of the island of Boracay.  “It’s one of the most beautiful places in the World.  We want to get more young people to care about Boracay by making this a cool and sexy cause to support,” says Axe Brand Manager Gem Laforteza.

Gem Laforteza, Axe Brand Manager.

Hope he won't kill me for posting this stolen shot.
*cross-fingers*
Because I don't want to leave anything out about this campaign, here's the rest of the press article:

Everyone has a sexy “what happens in Boracay stays in Boracay” story to tell.  We all love Boracay and we want to keep it the way it is with its pristine white beaches, clear waters, and of course the beautiful people.  Now, Axe Philippines is bringing something very unusual but potentially very powerful as well to the cause: Axe Girls in bikinis.

“Boracay is all about being young and having fun.  And that’s exactly what the Axe brand is: young, fun, and sexy.  That’s why we love this cause,” says the Axe team.  Well, the Axe Girls will definitely be a big help in getting the support of guys everywhere.

But Axe Girls in bikinis isn’t the most exciting news about the new Axe campaign.  Axe Philippines will also be sending two brand ambassadors on a mission to promote Boracay and the rest of the country in an upcoming assembly of Axe ambassadors in the Carribean.

To celebrate the successful global launch of its newest fragrance, Axe Anarchy, Axe will be throwing a 3-day party in a private island in Palencia, Belize in the Carribean Sea.  Brand ambassadors will be flown in from all participating Axe countries to party on a beautiful patch of sand.  Seeing this as an opportunity to promote Boracay, Axe Philippines will be sending one guy and one girl to represent the Philippines at the party.

On top of the “diplomatic mission” to the Carribean, Axe Philippines will also be coming up with fundraisers to pool support for a clean-up mission in Boracay.  Their first event is a sexy car wash they’re calling “Axe Anarchy Bikini Car Wash”, which will be happening on October 20, 2012 at the NBC Tent Grounds at the Fort.  The Axe Girls will be washing cars in exchange for 500-peso donations to the cause.  And all proceeds from the event will be matched by Axe Philippines and used to fund a clean-up mission.

“Axe Philippines will be donating one peso for every one peso raised during event,” says Gem.  “But more than the money, this is about getting people to shout out that they support the cause and that they want to keep partying in Boracay.”

To join the Bikini Car Wash, or to learn more about the project, you can check out www.sexysavesboracay.com or the Axe Facebook fanpage.

Stay tuned for more updates about the campaign. Trust me, I'll be the first to know what's going to happen next.

An Alternative to that pricey Korean Fried Chicken let's call "Enchong Chicken"

I just want to share with you a little discovery I found over the weekend.

If you're craving for that famous Korean Chicken that- let's admit- pricey, itago nalang natin sya sa pangalang "Enchong Chicken." Here's a cheaper way to satisfy that craving...

Only P41.50 each
It comes with a batter mix & the
Korean Fried Chicken Sauce: Spicy & Soy Garlic

2 packs is good for 1 whole Chicken that can serve 3-4.
Step 1: Mix the Batter.
For me though, I find the 2 packs batter mixed with 1/2 cup water still too watery so I still mix it with 1 egg, 5 tbsp. flour and a dash of pepper. I also quickly marinate the chicken in 5 tbsp. fish sauce (patis) and 1/4 cup water just to add to the taste. With all these actually, the fried chicken already tastes good even without the sauces.
Step 2: Fry the Chicken

After frying the chicken, the question that only remains now is:
Spicy? or Soy Garlic?

Step 3: Mix your chicken with your preferred sauce.
Tip: Do a tap dance while you're doing this. Trust me, it's fun!

Spicy
Soy Garlic

*Katching*Katching*
1 Whole Chicken P125.79
1 McCormick Korean Fried Chicken Spicy P41.50
1 McCormick Korean Fried Chicken Soy Garlic P41.50
Serves 3-4.

With oil, flour, egg, pepper & electricity?
Est. P75.00 each.

Not bad, right?

Verdict? Tastes just like "Enchong" without the price tag.
Would I cook this again? Honestly, this is my second try...

Kitchen Diaries Episode 2

Okay, I know I've left you hanging for over three weeks now, waiting for the next episode of the Kitchen Diaries and no amount of excuse can ever be acceptable to my followers.

Editing this episode actually gave me a fright because when I was trying to download the videos, errors of corrupted files keep on popping up. Good thing I was able to retrieve the video files or else I would have no choice but to redo everything and make you wait even more.

This episode is another good long 15 minutes. Pardon the length, I've already made A LOT of cuts to hopefully fit everything under 10 minutes but next time I guess.

For this episode, I share with you a recipe I discovered as a new (part-time) housewife. One of my husband's favorites- "Sweet and Sour Fish Fillet."

Here's the how to video:

Ingredients you need:
Oil
1 1/2 kilo Dory Fish Fillet P141.00
2 Eggs P10.00
5 tbsp. Flour
2 Carrots P27.00
1 Onion
Bell Peppes P34.00
Ginger P3.50
Del Monte Pineapple Chunks est. P30.00
Del Monte Quick N' Easy Mix P22.50
For my followers abroad, don't think that I've forgotten about you... If the Del Monte Quick N' Easy recipe mix is unavailable in where you are, here's another version that is also quick and easy.

Just saute onions, bell peppers, ginger and carrots into a medium sauce pan or skillet (kawale) for 1 minute. Stir in the 1/4 cup pineapple juice you drained from 1 small can of pineapple chunks, add 1 1/2 tbsp. sugar, 5 tbsp. ketchup, 2 tbsp. water, 2 tbsp. of flour, 1 tbsp. sesame oil, and a pinch of salt and pepper to taste. Cook until thickened, stir occasionally. Add the pineapples, then serve. Because this is a Clueless Mrs.' version,  just taste what you're cooking. If it's too sour, add sugar. If it's too sweet, add salt & pepper. Do not be afraid to experiment coz that's how you will learn. Good luck and happy cooking!

Good news also for those who want to learn more about Quick N' Easy recipes. Del Monte's iPhone app is finally available on iTunes App Store.
Go to App Store Now!
Here's a screenshot of what you can expect from the iPhone app. This is one of the most user-friendly cooking apps I've seen. What I like about it is that you can also create your own music playlist via your iTunes for each recipe you want to cook.

Video shot using Lumix TS20
Soundtrack: Light by Ellie Goulding downloaded via Music Dumper.

What do you want me to cook next?

Real Fashion

If you've really been following my blog, you'll see that I have posted more fashion-related blogs than any other topics my blog cover.

Well, there's a reason for that. I'm not just sharing my daily outfits just to show you my new shoes or whatnot but to secure enough samples to segue to this very important and hopefully educational blog post.

I'm talking about understanding your personal style.

I just love this quote from Yves Saint Laurent.

When I was young, I never believed that what magazines define as fashionable and trendy should always dictate how a person should dress and look like. At the end of the day, YOU want to look good, and that means finding clothes that suit your size, shape, complexion and personality. One thing I've learned from impulsive shopping over the years, "if it doesn't flatter your body and reflects your personality, leave it" that should save you from unnecessary expense...

When we were younger, our clothes reflect our mom's fashion personality.
As we reach our tween years- puberty stage - we begin to identify our taste in fashion- either we realize it or not. Look at how I've evolved.

This is me from two years old till College. Well, I guess you somehow know the rest of my fashion evolution story that I didn't bother to post them again anymore.

My fashion personality is a good play Classic and Trendy personalities while Classic is the dominant one. It is my safe place.

To know your style personality, I found this really good Fashion Style Quiz on the internet that I recommend you to try. All the questions are relevant and easy to answer.

I've thought sO hard how to explain what I really want to impart with you about fashion and style then as I was doing my research, I stumbled into this very GOOD e-book in the same site as the Fashion Style Quiz.

Download the eBook here.
For those who are still fashionably lost, hope this helps. And as the Chic Fashionista always say, Stay Stylish!

Flower Power

No, I'm not going hippie nor am I swathe with an overly flowery attire for this post.

I am just blessed with good vibes and luck lately, though I did face few hurdles along the way, that I wanted to end the week in a light and flowery mood.

Just to share so you can relate to what I'm so eagerly happy about. I...
1. Got responses to very important emails hence, set very important meetings.
2. Hit 4 numbers of the 6/55 Grand Lotto. First win ever! P2,000 prize! woohooooo...
3. Got booked for a modeling job. Finally....
4. Other projects in full gear.

My husband says it's the "Law of Attraction" - that if you think you're lucky then luck will come to you. A good principle to live by don't you think?

Well, with these all happening one after another, I can say that I had a pretty good week.

I'm just so happy that I didn't even mind the cloudy skies when I wore this light, not so rain-friendly outfit last Friday. (To be honest, I had no idea that it was raining till we were already on our way to the car to go to work. haha... no time to back out)

It was actually still drizzling when we took these photos so we had to rush a bit.

Top: The Landmark (P249.75)
Jeggings: Mango (Sale at P995)
Nude Pumps: Charles & Keith (P2,199)

I know that you've already seen me in the same jeggings and in the same sexy nude pumps but I can't help it when they're just too comfy and fab to wear over and over again. Hey, I did mention that I always max out the life of my clothes and shoes for a good ROI (Return on Investment). Besides, my nude pumps haven't totally passed the break in period so, I am compelled to wear them as much as possible.

See how happy I am?
Necklace: For Reselling Soon (SRP est. P300+)
Flower BEAM!!! *sound effects*
Bangles: For Reselling Soon (SRP est. P180-P250)
Cocktail Ring: For Reselling Soon (SRP est. P100)

What do you think?
