Let's Drink Pure!

What kind of water do you drink? Filtered? Purified? Mineral? Alkaline?
Whatever it is, we all share the same need when it comes to drinking water. It must be CLEAN and GERM-FREE. That's why we spend so much on water filtration systems at home or have drinking water delivered right to our doorstep. But, do you ever wonder... Is the water we drink really clean and safe?

My dad, for one, is one of those who are skeptic about the cleanliness of water refilling stations. He once shared that we must switch up water stations from old to new ones because equipment gets old and you're not sure how well those water stations maintain or update their filtration system. Besides the equipment, the handling will also be always in question. Have you ever observed how the "kuyas" wash your water container? How they seal, store, and carry them from the refilling station, to the delivery truck, up to your doorstep? There are just so many chances of contamination we neglect to see. This is where Unilever Philippines newly launched brand, Pureit, comes in.

Pureit is the largest selling brand of in-home water purifiers in the world, starting with the Excella, a non-electric water purifier that converts tap water and even untreated water into guaranteed clean and safe drinking water.

Pureit Excella is the only non-electric water purifier that meets the microbiological safety norms criteria of the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), which is the regulatory body with the most stringest standards for safe drinking water all over the world. It also has a state-of-the-art purification technology by turning potentially dangerous tap water into a fountain of health by purifying water twice, giving us complete germ protection.

HOW IT WORKS: the first level of purification consists of three simple yet valuable layers of protection where water initially passes through the Germkill Processor that disinfects the water of almost all bacteria, viruses and germs. Next, it passes through the Advanced Microfiber Mesh that filters out precipitates such as visible and invisible dust and dirt particles, as well as metallic impurities. Lastly, the Carbon Polisher removes pesticides, chlorine, and odor from the water, before it goes to the second level of purification.

The second level of purification is performed by the Micro-charged Membrane, which further purifies the water by removing any remaining parasites or bacteria - assuring families of protection against diseases (something that's not common to all filtration system or purifiers). The end product? Clear, fresh, and natural-tasting water that's free from harmful agents. Safe, even for my baby!

During the Pureit brand launch, I got the chance to talk to Pureit's Brand Manager, Brian Duruin, and he shared that "central to Unilever's mission is to make sustainable living commonplace all over the world. Pureit provides Filipino families with access to guaranteed clean and safe drinking water, as certified by both international and local health institutions like the Department of Health and the Philippine Public Health Association." Trivia: Did you know that Unilever's huge office in Paco, Manila only uses recycled water? Yes, that's how serious they are when it comes to promoting sustainable living.

What I love most about Pureit is its advanced auto shut-off mechanism.
Once the Germkill Life Indicator turns fully red, Pureit's Advanced Auto Shut-off mechanism shuts off the supply of purified water to ensure that no member of the family accidentally drinks unsafe water.

Pureit Excella sells for P5,000 SRP but before you cringe on the price tag, let's do the math first.
Looking at this chart and a little computation in my head, not only do you get your investment back in a few months time, you gain so much more savings by letting go of bottled waters, and have a guaranteed clean and safe drinking water for the whole family. Now, that's what I call a worth-it investment.
